It'll be a miracle if the woman who did a Bad Thing and who might even be a Bad Person doesn't commit suicide. And people will cheer for it. This is an utterly dehumanizing spectacle.
I can't help but think that the way I feel watching this is just like how some people must have felt watching people being publicly burned alive for some morally charged transgression, knowing this can't keep going on, that something has to change.
I've been called out today by a bunch of friends, either for failing to care enough about the woman's apparent racism or for choosing wrongly to defend a racist. No. Thank you, friends, but no. This is wrong. This is very wrong.
