Not seeing sources for the Federalist statistics, and they& #39;re using unemployment as "as a proxy for the degree of a state’s effort to lock down residents", which may be suspect. https://thefederalist.com/2020/05/26/data-left-demanded-mass-transit-fueled-covid-19-deaths/">https://thefederalist.com/2020/05/2...
Doesn& #39;t show how they concluded no correlation between "between the increase in unemployment and either COVID-19 case rate" https://thefederalist.com/2020/05/26/data-left-demanded-mass-transit-fueled-covid-19-deaths/">https://thefederalist.com/2020/05/2...
Per the CDC, "5.1 million people live in nursing homes or residential care facilities, representing 1.6% of the U.S. population." https://justthenews.com/politics-policy/coronavirus/cdc-says-coronavirus-infection-fatality-rate-could-be-low-026-nearly">https://justthenews.com/politics-...
"And yet residents in such facilities account for 42 percent of all deaths from COVID-19, for states that report such statistics." Apparently per an analysis of the CDC data reported through something called "Freopp".
Tends to agree with my personal conclusions about the usefulness of the lockdown policies, but the supporting analysis and citations for these conclusions are pretty soft.
Looks like large portions of this thread just disappeared into thin air. @jack I guess we aren& #39;t going to be allowed to discuss this here.
Sorry, the original instigator for this was Limbaugh: https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2020/05/26/the-lockdown-wasnt-necessary/?fbclid=IwAR217mS5Q676aX2CaYdXgEGPGaQru55bXGBxRKK7AG2ApsalAB3e4udj0rw">https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/202...
