Ok, I am nearly done w/ today, but I have one thing to say. Writing is art. That doesn't mean that it exists separate from the world, a fantasy portal. No, throughout time - artists have looked at their world through their own unique perspective - through their own lens.

They made conclusions, reinterpreted ideas and gave back to their communities through their art. That art, no matter the format, was political, it was social commentary, it was fantasy justice - it was a reflection of what was, what could be, maybe even

what the artist wished it would be. So when people make derogatory statements that maybe artists should just create art and STFU about the world we live in - all I can say is "you don't know art."
If you don't like what someone has to say, that is your right.

It isn't your right to suggest they shouldn't have a voice.
And given the state of the world - I want to see MORE commentary in art that educates, challenges and makes people stretch their minds.

Art can entertain - but that isn't its sole purpose.
