CBR a decade ago was a wonderful site with insightful columns that helped me discover US comics. @TimCallahan's WWC columns, in particular, were my guide to understanding comics, fiction, and criticism. In this thread, I picked my 10 favorite WWC columns.
1. Fahrenheit 451, Nabokov School of criticism, Deadpool MAX, Scalped

@TimCallahan was one of the first reviewers who championed SCALPED and Aaron. I discovered SCALPED from his top 10 list, and it is still one of the my favorite fictions. https://www.cbr.com/farenheit-451-comics-me/
2. Tim on FLEX MENTALLO

Tim is most known for his writing on Morrison. (check out the @Sequart book) FLEX has been a holy grail for a long time.

4. Applying old literary theory to Darwyn Cooke's storytelling

Can you imagine a comics column that talks about Mellville, mimesis vs. diegesis, Richard Kelly, DeLillo to analyze Cooke's PARKER?

6. Why DKSA is a better comics than FINAL CRISIS

A formative article. The 3 criteria of valuing comics are something I always think about.

I didn’t include here, but all the top 10 of the year and decade articles are also incredibly valuable.

Especially with a decade past, you can really discover many gems here.
