At @haringeycouncil scrutiny meeting @AJogee raised q on progress for safer streets. Update from @CllrEjiofor was no update: there is a meeting tomorrow to discuss plans. I'll withhold judgement until, but his tone spoke volumes. Yes a green issue but it's really a safety issue.
The engagement started off with a slightly surreal back and forward. Can you ride a bike?! Could be wrong but that doesn't strike me as the face of a man that's tried to pedal down seven sisters road, 6 lanes of pain from manor house...
N.b. on how Haringey stacks vs other boroughs - @LDN_LS data suggests Haringey *is* worse on protecting cyclists (e.g. 3.5% roads have protected space vs 16.2% City of L - and that was pre COVID changes). Hackney that was bottom of pile has announced much to improve here.
To summarise:
@AJogee Q - when will residents get a say?
@CllrEjiofor A - lets manage expectations. We got quick wins, but if we ask people about it they wont be quick wins.
[Forgive me for being confused at how all the other councils have moved with pace @allpartycycling ]

Good close from @AJogee . Let's hope ambition, energy, enthusiasm over come the lethargy of some really quite tired thinking on this topic. Be bold. @HaringeyLiving
Thanks to @MartinBallN17 for heads up meeting was on, and Cllr Jogee for the focus.
