US and other western democratic countries i think have reached a stage where they have no gumption for any kind of war, even economic in nature, let alone actual in nature. Luckily for them Chinese spheres of influence don't directly threaten them in any way.

Geographically only Japan and South Korea are areas where Chinese and US interests can even collide and Chinese i suppose have no interest of needling in either

Reason why these chaps still go after Russia rather than China as former is a more direct threat geographically also

China i think has understood this and will keep pushing the limits
