Neutrinos come in from space (cosmic rays) but these particles seem to have come from the Earth's interior. A paper hypothesized these to be superpartner of tau lepton. It could also be due to some bizarre behaviour of the Antartic ice.

There are loads of theories being considered & the parallel universe one doesn't have any extraordinary evidence to support it.
