So Christian Cooper is a snack and a nerd and not at all intimidating which makes this whole story all the more egregious, but even if a person does physically fit your idea of "scary," you still don't get to call the cops on an innocent man who didn't do anything wrong. https://twitter.com/chrissyteigen/status/1265351199835820032
It is really important for women to trust their instincts and not talk themselves out of fear. But the thing you do when you're scared of someone is you run or you freeze (or, if they attack you, you might fight back). You don't threaten them and try to grab their phone.
Which is why Amy Cooper's "I was scared" line is such an obvious lie. Don't tell women when we should and shouldn't be scared; that gets women killed. But when white women weaponize our assumed vulnerability to bring the power of the state down on a black man, that's not fear.
That's straight-up aggression. It's not done with our fists, but it's absolutely an act of aggression and provocation, not self-defense. It's not about fear; it's about anger and entitlement. If Amy Cooper was afraid, she would have walked away.
