uhhhh a thread on why the misfits are bad people bc i need to fucking vent and im tired of debating ignorant white folks so imma just educate pls bare with me

as yall know... the misfits are infamous because they use slurs and use “dark humour” this includes members saying slurs they cant reclaim, making jokes targeting minority groups etc etc

now these “jokes” at the expense of oppressed groups are things called microaggressions. microaggressions can be used against any oppressed group. an example of a microaggression is saying something like “all black people do *thing*” although it may seem funny its rlly not

these “jokes” are SERIOUSLY fucking damaging to the black/gay/trans etc community. when you say stuff like that along with the years of oppression those groups have faced it isnt just a joke anymore. its bigotry

slurs have history. no matter what. its not “just a word” when its been used a tool to gain power over the oppressed. and if you do not understand the history or have felt the long lasting effects of that history you CANNOT reclaim that word

its frustrating to so many poc that they cant escape the ideals of racism even when they consume media thats supposed to be enjoyable. its fucking heartbreaking to see someone you look up to say shit like that about your group ofpeople

the misfits know what they are doing is harmful yet they continue to do it. which shows absolutely no fucking growth. they dont care about the groups theyre effecting. its just all some big fucking joke. they dont care about how you feel
