do not share videos of black men being murdered by the police. they used to proudly put lynchings on post cards. you will not give the white man empathy, you’re giving him entertainment.
no “awareness” needs to be raised either. people around the whole world know very well the history and circumstances of black oppression in america. if you want to be an advocate, share the history of and tools of resistance. not trauma
sharing videos of violence against POC in america is the equivalent of r*pe porn on the internet. it is a fetish. if it actually served in advancing legislation to decrease the violence done by police then that would’ve happened by now. that’s not what will happen.
the only thing that will happen is blue lives matter will gather to defend the perpetrator in every post of the video. police will only be emboldened to enact their violence. why? bc there is no accountability in the police system & they know this well.
why do u think the cops never stop when a camera is filming? because they‘re protected by a security apparatus w/out checks and balances. they are tools of violence. they are not taught how to check any implicit biases and prejudices. they are taught to neutralize life
