Even before that lady threatened calling the cops, letting your dog off the leash in a public, non-enclosed space is peak Karen behavior and also is just the epitome of entitlement. You're endangering your dog and others.

I hate that woman so much and my heart goes out to Cooper and all black birders everywhere. Birds are for everyone, they don't discriminate.

Also dogs can and do kill birds and destroy nests. It's a serious problem and Christian Cooper was absolutely in the right about it. The space he was in was meant specifically for birdwatchers. I'm so, so, so angry!!!!!!!

I never even bring my dog on nature walks bc his very presence makes all of the animals more stressed, which isn't fair to them. The birds see him as a wolf, regardless of what a doofus he actually is.
