THREAD: Based on my layman& #39;s understanding of law, the policeman who kills a handcuffed or prone man (without forethought or planning) should be charged for manslaughter. #txlege https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/05/26/minneapolis-police-death-custody-fbi/">https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/20...
Also, the woman in the park on video calling cops on a black man and lying by pretending to be in danger should be charged for attempted murder (and of course making a false report). https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2020/05/26/amy-cooper-leave-called-police-christian-cooper-central-park/5257764002/">https://www.usatoday.com/story/new...
She knew exactly the possible consequences for the black man, and she acted with malice and forethought. She was willing to try to get him killed and her actions were calculated and deliberate.
Her apology is ludicrous, and her complaints about how she is now inconvenienced are insulting.
Both must be held accountable, as must ALL who continue and perpetuate such racism and violence.

If we wish to claim to be a civilized society, these killings must be stopped, and that will only happen when we hold accountable those who murder (or attempt to murder) our fellow citizens and convict them when they are proven guilty.
And it& #39;s IMPERATIVE for white people to speak out, to express our outrage at the death of innocents and the weaponizing of our safety services, and to take actions to oppose racism, discrimination, and bigotry in all forms. #txlege #enoughisenough
