How IBB got the name? This is it, a thread.

The Christians in Nigeria saw that as an agenda to Islamise Nigeria, they antagonise it vehemently and it became a nationwide discussion, which led to a religion battle. The inflamed religious passion led to IBB appointing Lt. Col. Shagaya(A Christian from Langtang in Plateau)...

to head a 25-member committee to report on Nigeria’s membership of the OIC. By appointing a Christian as committee head, the Christian rage was doused and they believe there won't be anti-Christian bias in the committee findings. The Committee after their findings....

...report in a technical and intelligent way, assuring Nigerians, most especially Christians that Nigeria had not become an Islamic country. The controversy died down naturally & while this was going on, Nigeria already joined OIC, Nigeria has since then became a member state

It was one of the many situations that define IBB, while Nigerians would always have say, IBB could always have his way. It was also the time the popular Argentine Footballer, Diego Armando Maradona was on top of the world, winning the World Cup in same 1986.

So, IBB 'dribbling' style, was likened to that of Maradona, which was the best as at that time. The Problem IBB has was that he's too nice and polite, he listen attentively to everybody no matter how long you take. He never liked to say NO to anybody.

So, he gives everyone an assurance that he will do whatever you request of him to do and end up doing what pleases him, which, if different from the assurance he gave you, will make you feel dribbled.
