You shouldn't have to cite someone's credentials or social status to prove to the world they don't 'deserve' to experience white supremacy or violence.

No one f'ing does.

Respect should be inherent; not "earned" thru accomplishments society deems impressive.

Christian Cooper seems like a phenomenal man. That video of him talking about birding made me want to listen to a podcast by him; I'm a fan.

But I hate how news coverage of white violence by the news media differs by how "educated" or "accomplished" the person in question is.
Black people in this country shouldn't have to righteously fight to humanize themselves in the media's eyes by listing "respectable" factoids about victims of white supremacy.

*ALL* #BLM. White folks: it's up to us to acknowledge this and do the work to dismantle this response.
