Jokes aside, churches can function within these parameters. A quick 30 minute service will be sufficient. Perhaps they'll spread services out through the week so that people will have the opportunity to attend church.
However, it's the 60+ age group with one or more comorbidities that makes people fear. Also, where will the resources to sanitise the whole church come from? The church will surely have to be sanitised before/after each service.
Church is not just prayers and worship. It's how people have been socialised their whole lives. Many do not identify outside the church so their mental health should also be considered. To many, church represents freedom and peace - things that may not be there in the home.
A lot of churches have social projects and there are sickly people whose spirits won't rest if they die without being one with God in a physical building. We ought to be a little more sensitive around these things.
I don't feel it's necessary for everyone to go to church. The church will have to manage this carefully.
