Long and vulnerable tweet coming:
A friend and I were discussing body positivity/bodies in 2020 and as I was looking at my history from afar i have to say I’m really proud of myself for where I’ve come in my body positivity journey.
When I was a teenager, a lot of the time I would:
. Not go to things/participate in activities that required me to wear a swimsuit
. Not eat around guys/eat smaller portions around friends specifically
. Would allow people to judge my body, and not protect it from cruel words
Thankfully, as I’m getting older I wear my swimsuits/clothes PROUDLY because they express who I am, refuse to withhold food from myself to please other people, and don’t let other people’s opinions of my body go unnoticed without a conversation.
It has taken me OVER TEN YEARS to start learning to love my body, and it’s still an ongoing thing. 10 years. That’s NOT fair.

SO- as I’m learning to love my body as it is (because all bodies are deserving of kind words and love) here are some things I’m learning
That maybe will help you too!
1. Your body at any size, weight is worthy of care.
2. It can take time- but that time is so worthy of speaking in to
3. A significant other or prospect shouldn’t make you feel like you aren’t worthy of love because of your body
