I really hate how our houses are designed. They really aren't suited for our climate.

Our house was built in the mid 80s and the plan was provided by CDA. Most houses in this neighborhood followed the same design with minor adjustments.
Since then, minor renovations done. But none of them addressed the issue of heat dissipation.

1. Concept of insulation isn't popular. Houses become a humid mess in a matter of hours.

2. Either local architects are stupid or they don't consider cross ventilation whilst planning.
Juxtapose this with old houses with baramdahs in the village and you see the stark difference.

None of our modern houses were designed with our climate in mind. They just slapped on whatever they could to 'modernize' them. Heat gets trapped inside.
The amount of money we could save on AC bills by simply addressing the aforementioned issues could go a long way.

Like fine I've got the AC on and am comfortable. But what about the vast majority who can't afford that? And why TF should I even have to have the AC on?!
It's simple science.

Warm air goes up. Cool air comes down.

So simple in fact that houses in Pre Partion Hyderabad figured it out and had these. So why didn't this novel innovation catch on?
