Too many white humans are worried about their freedom to decide whether or not they wear a mask in Menards. The story of George Floyd must be heard. If you are moved to anger about your freedoms during COVID-19, I urge you to think bigger.
Seek out information from experts who know MORE than you do. Here are some book recommendations-

Talking to Strangers by Malcom Gladwell (the audiobook is incredible)- like many of his other books, this challenged the way I think about truth.
If you are a white parent looking to bring these topics up with your child, Ghost Boys by Jewell Parker Rhodes- it provides perspective of black youth as well as the complex perspective of police officers and implicit bias
A Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds- this Young Adult novel this is written in verse, but I would recommend it to adults as well. As a white adult, I appreciated the young adult perspective on gun violence.
