So people have been coming for me for my hair cut thread, its not something i have said, but what Scholars have stated. See below:
Imam Nawawi in his Sharh of Muslim has clearly stated

'There is Consensus amongst the scholars of Qaza' being Makruh'

he also says

'Its Makruh Tanzihi' (lowest level of Makruh)
Ibn Hajr in Fath ul Baari

'Our Madh'hab is that its Makruh'
Al-Ayni quotes Imam Nawawi word for word in his Umdatul Qaari and doesnt nor bring any other ruling regarding this.
Ar Ruhaybaani mentions in his Mataalib

'Qaza' which is shaving parts of the head and leaving parts is disliked (makruh) because of the narration of ibn Umar'
Khalil Ahmad Sahranfuris in Bathl Al Majhud states: This (ruling) is not specific to a child, but if a adult does it, its disliked (makruh)'
Other Scholars have also mentioned this but i believe this is enough.
Other Scholars have explained Qaza' further, explaining it to be completely different from fades or 2 blade haircuts:
Ibn Bataal mentions in his Sharh of Bukhari, its to leave hair at the front of the head but with hair nowhere else.
Qadhi Iyaadh mentions in Ikmaal ul Mu'lim,

'if it (qaza') is done in diff places then this (on the head) then it is prohibited'

he also clearly says, if parts of the head are not shaved and part not left, then there is a difference of opinion in it being permissible
Ibn ul Jawzi says in his kashful mushkil, qaza has been explained in the hadith, to shave it parts and leave parts
Ibnul Mulaqqin in his tawdeeh has said to leave the fringe is what has been prohibited. he explains this. then quotes ibn teen who says: you leave some hair but shave majority of the head
There is so much more explanation provided in these exact books. theres also alot more explanation behind what qaza' is, narrations, opinions. Have a read of you can.
And for those who havent studied, dont get emotional because it goes against what you have thought all your life. Pick up books and read inshallah
May Allah allow us to not be blinded with what little knowledge we have and allow us to take from The Scholars of Hadeeth and understand the Quran & Sunnah properly.
(a correction)

Ibnul Mullaqin has mentioned locks* are prohibited.

Most of the above scholars alsoo state the hairstyle of the Jews. shaved head with locks, is Qaza' due a a hadeeth in Abu Dawud. Imam Nawawi has indicated to this as others have
