I have worked my whole life, as the child of a single mother, raised in the welfare system, to provide for my family. I bought a house large enough for her to have her own space. She lives with me, in MY house, that I paid for.

"My house, my rules" sounds great when it's a comment on AITA, or here on Twitter, but enforcing it on your own mother is easier said than done.

And now, because people who never took a virology course in their lives, have convinced her that COVID-19 is a liberal hoax and that she should go maskless to "own the libs," she's probably going to kill me.

Politicizing the response to a pandemic is reasonable, understandable, and needed. Handle it wrong, people die (as we are seeing now).

Politicizing the facts of the disease itself should be considered at minimum negligent homicide.

When she gets me sick, and I die, please find someone to charge with my death. Not even necessarily her; people she trusts have told her she's doing nothing wrong. She believes them over me.

Go for the liars.
