Ahmaud Arbery’s murderers have not yet been tried for their crimes and already in this country we have another black man killed for no reason. This time by police. George Floyd deserves to be alive. #SayHisName

In 2014, when Eric Garner told the world he couldn’t breathe, I didn’t do or say anything. I didn’t know what to do. I was afraid to say the wrong thing. But here I am watching the exact same video six years later. And that list has gotten so much longer.

I still don’t know how to help. I don’t know how to make it stop. I can and will campaign for change and vote for change. I can and will challenge the status quo with the racists I come across. But I don’t know how to stop the dying.

I’m done saying nothing though. I’m sick and tired of watching my black friends and black folks everywhere live in fear. I’m sick of watching them be met with blatant and obvious prejudice every day. Black lives matter so much more than we as white people dare give them credit.
