Went on a bike ride in to Sheffield and back with child two. When there are bike lanes it’s wonderful. When there aren’t it is not. I realise this might have been said before but I’m new to this so ... Has anyone designing bike lanes ever done any user design? Coz it might help.
They just randomly stop ... like... now what? All I could think is - who designed this. What is the intended journey for the user? Should I try to absorbs my bike by osmosis and return to being a pedestrian?
Then I pictured a man in a high vis saying “...look, it works for me”
Did they run out of paint?
Did they run out of the red tarmac stuff?
Then there are these tiny little random bits of bike lanes that appear and then disappear within about 10metres and I am like ... what was the point? Why waste the resources on that random stretch when you could have got us across that other junction?
I’m still cross. Dominic.
This is just additional.
