Its wrong to assume they are straight because for a lot of ppl, they consider straight as the default. When we SPECULATE that they might be dating a member it is on the basis of the fact that they have a very close bond with each other.

We are not assuming they are gay, we are speculating they might like one particular man that they have spent 7 years sharing living quarters and feelings and hardships with and that means they could be bi, het, pan, demi or even asexual for all we know.

So its wrong to assume it will be a gf when u know nothing about them. We ship them with another member, whom like i said earlier, they have shared almost every aspect of the 7 most crucial years of their life with.

Saying they have a gf, is labelling them purely heterosexual or heteroromantic when we dont know their sexuality at all. Tbh for all we know one of em could be aromantic and asexual.

That why we are asking u to call their s/o whoever it maybe, partner or lover and not gf only because WE DONT KNOW. We can speculate yes but straight is NOT THE DEFAULT. So like when we dont know what pronouns to use for a person we use they and them,

please use a gender neutral term for whoever their S/O maybe like lover or partner so it is all inclusive and we arent assuming anything. Shipping is for fun for most of us including OP and we can be a little delulu shipping two members and calling them married or wtvr coz its

It shouldnt even matter what gender they two are. The word people should suffice. When you say it "must be his gf" thats where you are completely disregarding the fact that just maybe its a bf or a genderfluid partner amd that is where the person who said it is wrong.
