Many of the problems with Canadian cannabis legalization have come from well-meaning, but ultimately clueless, CEOs and investors who failed to understand the plant and how to grow it, but were quite savvy at getting licensed and getting funded. 1/5
In 1.5 years of legalization in Canada, we've seen numerous companies come and go, big CEOs making a splash only to be fired in shameful circumstances, multiple new grow methods touted, tested, and failed, and countless other hair-brained schemes. 2/5
A major problem with the Canadian cannabis has been how the greedheads and suits have been allowed to dictate the terms and conditions of the industry from on high with little-to-no experience.

Take the orbital growing fiasco, for instance. 3/5
For years, a certain cannabis CEO went around telling everyone who would listen that their orbital growing IP was the way of the future and the only way to grow "at scale."

This was, of course, nonsense, but in the meantime, they wasted millions of dollars and man-hours. 4/5
My plea is this: in the future, we do not let people dictate how our industry will be run for us just because they are wearing a suit, have money, and seem very confident in themselves.

Old, salty, growers don't need to be told this, but it bears repeating for the rest of us 5/5
