I try not to measure God's love for me according to how well my life is going cause all it takes is perpetual losses to persuade me in wavering in that measurement mindset. but alas, the human mind struggles to grasp the infinite transcendence of God's love in this practical way.
this makes me realize that a relationship with God is fundamentally based upon earthly desire - both it's fulfillment, unfulfillment and their divine timing. on that note, would one still bother to maintain a relationship with God if one didn't have any desires?
I am asking because human's connection to God is akin to unrequited love, with God being the one subjected to the unrequitedness as a giver. humans are constantly seeking to take, take and take from the Divine since they perceive it as a supremely self-reliant celestial force.
this is why I try my best to approach my connection with God like I would with a regular human I love - by seeing them in their fullness as a being, not always seeking to enact the role of a taker through treating them as if they are a genie with no essence of their own.
I would like to challenge people to have a relationship with God beyond their earthly desires. this is understandably difficult because your rational mind will say, "what's the point of connecting with God if not for assistance in manifesting my desires through answered prayer?"
