FB has always offered visibility and ease in expressing unfiltered, often under-developed opinions in a forum where participants have little accountability for their discourse.

The addition of these highly visual indicators has only amplified this capability exponentially (2/6)
And as we know, FB has since grown from a social network into a high traffic medium for consuming and interacting with political news. And a petri dish for the development of new convictions on such matters for many users. (3/6)
This reality combined with the amplification of partisan ideological conflict means FB users are coming away with more and more partisan beliefs and antagonism for the other side each time they log off the site. (4/6)
My purpose in this thread is to raise awareness for the dangers posed by big tech to our democracy and national discourse. Our capacity for nuanced thought and rational debate over disagreements is being rapidly eroded due to manipulation by such platforms. (5/6)
