Starting to believe we are going to go the whole way through this entire thing - shops will reopen, schools, pubs, gyms, theatres - and still no one will mention physical contact. It's like abstinence-only sex ed. They think if they simply don't mention it, we won't do it.

And we all know how well abstinence-only education works.

Oh that's right. It doesn't. It doesn't work at all. People have sex anyway (because: humans) but without the information or understanding to do it safely. It's a deeply deeply damaging approach.

I'm not saying it's completely analagous but I think we can agree that ignoring something doesn't make it go away.

People *will* start to engage in physical contact again. And because there are no guidelines around it, everyone will make their own decisions about what's OK.
