If you're interested in India and want to go back in time, this is what I recommend. Read all. You will be able to hold a proper, informed, intelligent conversation on the topic.
Avoid shallow Tharoor, Bhagat, Amish, Aatish, Tavleen,
Shobhaa, and that white Mughal Willie.
