Never. Most clients lost their licenses when they were no longer physically (let alone mentally) capable of driving. Others were never capable of passing the driver’s test.
We don’t know Britney’s exact situation, and we don’t need to. Everything we do know points to the current conservatorship to be *at best* inappropriate for a client with Britney’s capacity.

Britney can support herself and then some. Even if Britney cannot manage finances, needing an accountant to help with large sums of money is hardly unique, nor is it a reason to conserve someone.

It is simply too overwhelming.

Those types of movements require abstract thinking and body awareness clients simply did not have. Many clients could not move at all.

Mental health may have been part of their treatment plans, but all were conserved due to neurological conditions or development disabilities apparent in primary school/upon birth—not MH

Every client under conservatorship either was a willing participant, or had no capacity to understand a conservatorship (advanced neurological conditions).

Dementia clients typically transitioned into Alzheimer’s, and most did not live for 12+ years from diagnosis.

Many were literate (or used to be) but reading a chapter book requires a lot more acuity and cognition than most people realize. Many people simply cannot do it. Britney can.
