From my colleague, Lamma: “Ayman Safieh, a Palestinian citizen of Israel and world-class dancer, has been missing at sea for three days. Israeli police forces have been doing the bare minimum to try to find him. They have discontinued the search several times since Sunday.” (2/5)
“Local fishermen and boat owners who attempted to search for him themselves, got fined by the police because of a prohibition on fishing (due to covid-19). The situation is not getting enough national or international recognition. It’s heartbreaking. This is apartheid.” (3/5)
As the first male Palestinian ballet dancer, Ayman is a groundbreaking artist. You can read a profile on him from @BBCWorld here: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-19202612

Every effort must be made to find Ayman, and his community must be allowed to search for him themselves. Please, please share with contacts, reporters, or others you know. (5/5)
