When Trump tweets certain inflammatory messaging and videos, it has sometimes been provided to him in order to specifically target the minds of his supporters in ways Trump doesn't even fully understand.

This is how alien that mental landscape has become.

If you find yourself too busy being outraged by MAGA messaging, rather than objectively reverse engineering its impact on different audiences, then you are playing into the hands of 21st century propaganda.

Modern propaganda is engineered to produce emotional responses in people (lower brain hijacking).

Think about early internet trolling as an example of triggering anger in people, early internet trolls rarely cared about the ideas they weaponized, they enjoyed causing reactions.

While basic trolling was often on an individual basis for a singular purpose (to anger one individual), A well crafted piece of modern propaganda can emotionally trigger multiple audiences in different ways for multiple outcomes desired by the attacker.

Compounding things a bit; The nature of propaganda has always been a cumulative effect on the human brain. Messaging always begins more subtle at first, with increasing intensity as the audience becomes increasingly receptive to it.

What we are seeing with Trump/MAGA messaging today, is different than the messaging from 2016, it is more violent, more fatalistic, more divisive, more fear based, and more angry.

A mind not primed to receive this messaging will eventually reject it at an emotional level as that mind sees it for the threat/danger it is, this reaction, while valid, is still from the lower brain.

In time, two very different audiences will grow to fear one another due to this conflict of perception. In short, the same messaging can create multiple monsters and set them up against one another.

Which, if you were a hostile foreign power, you would likely see this as an opportunity to be weaponized in order to create a division within an adversary's people.
