ok thread time bc apparently a lot of people don’t know that this exists ! hypersomnia is a thing where either you have excessive daytime sleepiness or you sleep excessively. my case is the latter, as i sleep for 10-12 hours. now some people might think “lucky you!” but really..
it’s not as great as you might think. personally, if i sleep 8 hours i’m exhausted. if i sleep 10 hours i’m still tired. i’m tired no matter how much i sleep so if i don’t set an alarm, i sleep for 10-12 hours. keep in mind i used to suffer from insomnia periods related to my
bipolar disorder when i was 15 and 16 so i know what it’s like to be on the other side. personally, this excessive sleep is worse because i lose valuable time from my day just sleeping. i feel like a lazy slob and it makes it harder to battle any sort of mental issue
not sure what my point was with this thread other than a rant but i just realized a lot of people don’t know about it so i thought i’d share. also not trying to compare mental illnesses or disregard anyone else, it’s just my personal experience with both ends
