So much that we read about new EdTech startups focussed on teaching/training/developing students with the use of the best technologies available (sometimes more than necessary). But globally we haven't made an effort to make teaching as a profession attractive and lucrative.
Some of those with a passion for teaching get into it but don't get paid enough. This is more relevant for school education. I am sure there are platforms enabling people to create learning programs and sell but there is nothing that develops a good teacher.
Assuming that home schooling could be more common, the situation could get worse. Not all parents are supposed to be teachers to their children. It is fair to say that they shouldn't always be. If they are made to do it more often it leads to stress causing strained relationships
It is a global problem with varying nature and scale in different countries. In a country such as technology will penetrated faster than people learn to adopt and leverage it. More so in the case of a specialized area such as teaching.
Some of these thoughts came after getting to know how many parents are finding it difficult to keep up with their kids' education. Not unexpected. Another reason for these thoughts was coming across @santoshpanda's new venture. Will add more later to this thread.
