Dear Artists~

You have your whole life ahead of you

The pressure people in the industry or school put on you to have everything figured out at 22 and be a legend by 25 is bogus

Only you can determine what ‘successful’ means to you

& you’ll redefine it your whole life
And let me tell you. Success isn’t trophies or ‘art fame’ - that stuff is empty and will never be satisfied.

To me success is measured by how you help people, by if you make efforts to lift people up, building a legacy with love and care. Doing things that actually help
A gentle reminder that so many of these toxic art ways come from long lines of people who wanted to keep certain people “out” of art spaces.

There aren’t tons of books about it because those ppl are still in lots of places of power

Lots of work yet to be done.
Stay grounded-
know yourself & spread love

Don’t punch down-
the art world doesn’t need any more of that nonsense

See the kernels of truth & then define your own truths

Yes work hard, but also be easier on yourself

Keep questioning

Keep growing

🔥✨🔥✨🔥✨🔥🗡🗡🗡⚡️
More truths:

Yours style evolves, so your priorities naturally shift

Your fate isn’t sealed at age 20

You can learn new things at any age

Just bc you’re young doesn’t mean you know nothing-you know quite a lot & be wary of ppl who try to use you

Learned experience takes time
It’s good to have a fire under you & it’s important to work to achieve your dreams.

But I’m saying don’t loose sight & focus of why you do what you do. make sure those reasons are ones that will sustain you

Question ‘art authority’ !!!

Bring people up w/ you

✨ MAKE ART 🔥🗡
