OFFSIDE OFFENCES

If an attacker in an #offside position receives the ball from an opponent:
➡️ who has deliberately played the ball – no offside offence ❌
➡️ who has made a deliberate save – offside offence ✔️
➡️ when the ball has deflected off the opponent – offside offence ✔️
2/3 Practical advice: OFFSIDE OFFENCES

DEFLECTION – the ball hits a player who does not move any/all of his/her body towards the ball

DELIBERATE PLAY – a player makes a clear movement towards the ball (regardless of whether or not the ball goes where the player intended)
3/3 Practical advice: OFFSIDE OFFENCES

DELIBERATE SAVE – a player stops or attempts to stop the ball which is going into or very close to the goal with any part of the body except the hands/arms (unless a goalkeeper within their own penalty area)
