book twitter is completely unhinged

for people who make liking reading their personality they sure are a big bunch of metaphorical book burners, very weird

i was on tumblr for a long time and i literally never saw everyone from a marginalised group unanimously agree on what is 'good representation' it's fucking subjective! the idea one person reading your book will magically make it not problematic somehow

also: books should be problematic and challenging because life is problematic and if your book doesn't reflect that then it's boring sanitised bullshit

it's actually very easy to simply not read a book if you don't like their premise, i do it all the time
