1/12 #openGLAM is often framed as a one way flow of data FROM an 'official' organisation TO the general public.

However, a lot of cultural content is being captured in 3D & made openly available by 'unofficial' + citizen digitization efforts.

2/12 Can the data being shared be considered #openGLAM?

I ( @nebulousflynn) think so & believe there is a huge opportunity for collaboration between these 'official' and 'unofficial' 3D projects.

11/12 I'm ( @nebulousflynn) not saying that organisations SHOULD do anything, I just want to indicate a rather fantastic opportunity to embrace the enthusiasm & skills of talented members of the GLAM audience.

12/12 Perhaps an example to follow is that of @museumofmaking in Derby, UK which has actively pursued a program of 'co-production' with expert and novice volunteers.
