I think I'm going to go back to my original version (swapped air and earth). It makes sense that air and fire would work together. I moved over earth at one point, when I was considering making it associated with things like decay, plague, poison, rot, etc. (thread)

Air and earth naturally oppose each other just in their relative locations. It sets up some interesting relationships too. Water obviously beats fire. Air could beat earth (erosion), but earth could beat air in relationship to fire. A hot enough fire could beat earth though.
I'll just have to think where all of this leaves poison from the standpoint of spellcasting though. I was planning to allow a character with magery and poisoning to cast more powerful poison spells. That was before I thought about adding a chaos and order casting system though.
It may just be that things like disease, poison, etc. are associated with chaos and order brings balance by being able to defeat them. With that in mind, a character with chaos and poisoning would be able to cast more powerful poison spells. (end of thread)
