The crux of the NatSec law: In order for it totally subdue HK it will need to imprison a lot of people, not just a few like CCP lackeys are predicting. Imprisoning a few key, often out-of-touch ‘chickens’, is not going to deter the black clad ‘monkeys’ on the street. (Thread)

Almost none of the big names believe in HK independence. HKI is a totally grassroots movement with no leaders. So, the message the average kid is going to get when they put Jimmy Lai or Martin Lee away for 10 years is to reinforce their desire for independence.

So, the CCP will have to engage in a widespread purge to quash and stamp out HKI. This widespread purge is EXACTLY what they’re saying does not need to happen, as the Law only targets a few people.

The widespread purge will anger those who aren’t necessarily inclined to protest all the time. Because, they certainly don’t believe in HKI and would never protest for it, but they absolutely don’t believe people should be thrown in prison for it. So, the fire spreads.

CCP are notoriously bad at numbers. Think about the user-ship for trains and bridges in HK. Their estimates are always totally out of whack, bcus they go on bad data. This is no different to the NatSec law, shit data in, equals shif data out.

They totally misunderstand the support for HKI and more importantly they totally misunderstand the support for people who will not support HKI but support people’s right to choose what they support.

The NatSec law is essentially like throwing water on an oil fire. The whole fucking kitchen is gonna burn down bcus you didn’t take the time to deal with the problem in a correct way.

If the international community is not spooked by the first wave of charges and moves to profound sanctions, it will definitely get spooked by the ensuing clamber to gain control via Red Terror. People will leave. The kitchen will be on fire and their will be panic everywhere.

The inevitable thing is that CCP and HK Police can not control power. Nice they get it they run rampant with it. You can see they are literally salivating at the prospect of vengeance. They are so blinded by their hate, they can’t see any of the consequences.
