Being wrong is a mistake, being a bigot is a continual choice.
Experiencing consequences for poor social choices is one of the most basic, foundational teaching tools for even young children. If someone can't handle "treat your coworkers like people," they made a sad choice. https://twitter.com/petercoffin/status/1265098993891188737

2016 was 4 whole-ass years ago. If they haven't learned even a little bit better by now, it's because THEY DON'T WANT TO.
Speak for yourself? I mean, I love the actual trans people in my life way more than I love the comfort of theoretical loved ones who don't think they're people. https://twitter.com/petercoffin/status/1265099314268909568?s=19
Anyway, this is the kind of absolute horseshit said by someone who's never talked to a trans person about having to cut a parent out of their lives because it was either that or suffer endless abuse from a "loved one," so.
I dunno, weird that making excuses for bigots seems to be such a big priority for someone who doesn't wanna be counted among the bigots.

Also, AND THIS IS JUST A THEORY, but I feel like trans people also want things like *checks notes* "a home" & "food," but are having a rough go of it because of being driven to suicide and murdered and persecuted by *checks notes* transphobes.
Huh.
Huh.
This.
Also, if someone got fired for being transphobic, there is almost no chance it was their first time being egregiously transphobic, and DEFINITELY no chance they didn't already know it's a shitty thing to be. https://twitter.com/Johkmil/status/1265271090810675200?s=19

Sorry - if I come off as especially passionate about this, it's because I'm a functionally socialized human being who's aware that life expectancies in the trans community was already tragically low BEFORE we were caught in a global pandemic.
Imagine how bad someone's transphobia has to be to get themselves fired in a society that treats trans people as disposable the way we do. Imagine how many times it had to happen before they were caught.
You want to get Capitalist about it?
Transphobia in the workplace is unprofessional. People get let go for unprofessional conduct in the workplace ALL THE TIME.
Maybe be a fucking professional instead of a transphobe?
Like, is that really so hard???
