I am so thankful to be working at the institution and the department that I do. In attempts to preserve PPE and decrease exposure, I was transitioned to part time these last two months without a cut in pay. I am so grateful.
I& #39;m so thankful to be transitioning back to full time in June. I genuinely love what I do, I have amazing coworkers and attendings. I love to learn more and more about medicine and this field every day. I would love to feel like I have a purpose again.
I& #39;m looking forward to having something to do again daily - turns out even with some exercise I like to pass my days eating junk and having cocktails. My heart aches for HCWs who lost their job, got a pay cut, or are really struggling.
This is my first job out of PA school. I picked up my life (again but with a man this time) and moved to a city where I knew no one and started fresh. I thought I was going to get experience and move home, but now this is my home.
For new PAs, it& #39;s okay if your first job isn& #39;t fantastic, isn& #39;t your new home. Finding that right away is rare. My advice is to find an institution that supports you as a PA, find attendings/SPs who help you look forward to work, and never quit learning!
8am rambles about how I& #39;m so happy to be getting back to full time in a job and at a hospital that I love. (I& #39;ll hate it again by day 3 I& #39;m sure)
