I finally got the chance to leave the house and boy oh boy I wasn’t ready for how a trip to the omang offices would turn into an episode of explore BW.

In hindsight I should have known because earlier this morning I spotted this, Crowned Lapwing. In face 3 of them.
Before I digress far off, back to my trip to the omang offices.
I get ready and all.

I get off along Nelson Mandela drive, here is the thing as much every trip to main mall starts with me getting off at this exact bus stop, today the taxi driver stopped by the first set of stairs (if you know, you know) which is unusual for me coz ke motho le di steps tsa Bobedi.
Of course at this point in my mind I’m still headed to the omang offices. As I walked through the government enclave I heard this flock of what could have been Swifts or Swallows, not too sure, all of a sudden I felt this overwhelming excitement to be going to the main mall.
At that point I realized how much I had actually missed being able to walk towards the main mall, covid really robbed us off a lot of things.

I cut cross through the Shell/KFC “entrance” coming from EY & the Ombudsman office, passed by that FNB atm next to the Chinese shop.
I won’t lie, I got this warm fuzzy feeling in my belly, 🥰🥺
That sense of being home, yeah man just seeing the Main Mall back to life gave me that.

I finally make it to the omang offices where there was gang gang people waiting in “line”, scrummed my way through the crowd
only to see a memo stating that the office can only assist up to 50 people a day. Lol. I don’t even know why there was so many people there coz they were damn well over 50. Some of them should have just left like I did.
This is where the fun began.
😁😁
I knew that flock of whatever was a sign .
😅

Went over to check home boy #BaristaSeabe who tells me that he only opened up shop yesterday and is ready to welcome you to #TheDiamondSquare once again.
Caught up with a talented artist who was also working on a commissioned piece (interview video in the next tweet, lol @ interview)
The man is ready to take orders.
Check him out at what he calls #TheDiamondGallery at #TheDiamondSquare
Not wanting to let the day/morning go to waste, I decided, let me visit one of the most overlooked tourist attraction in Gabs. How many times have you been to the Botswana National Archives and Records Services? Don’t worry you aren’t the only one.
This being my second visit here, I thought I knew what to expect but I quickly realized how much I had missed when I was there the last time.
The paintings on the walls tell stories about Botswana, once known as The Bechuanaland Protectorate.
Each section telling different tales.
This small corridor speaks volumes.
A nation built on principles.
As much as we cry about how undocumented Botswana is this place gives me a sense of hope in that regard, it’s just that sometimes we want the information coming to us, but if you go find it you’ll see that there has been some history documentation taking place.
It’d be dope to see our TV industry develop these documentation’s into something consumable on the screens.

Anyways if you’ve made trough this thread, I hope you enjoyed it and that you’ll one day take time to explore BW for yourself, starting with what’s around you.
