This may appear obscure if you're not in this world, but these accounts, I assure you, exemplify the worst of the worst of British anti-transgender activism.

Quite literally "anti-trans." Not "pro-woman," or "pro-lgb," no matter what they claim.

These accounts raise money and platform and status on one mission only: the erasure of trans people--trans women specifically--from existence.

This sounds very extreme.

It is.

These are extreme views, held by a very small minority of women, cisgender queer people, etc.

And here we have Rowling giving them one of the largest platforms in the *world.*

That's horrifying.

And SO important to understand.

re: reading harry potter knowing this information, I am of the opinion that all faves are problematic. There are no white people free of racism in their work. There are no men free of sexism. There are no cis people free of transphobia.

Rowling is riding HARD on the "actually hate trans people and support people who wish them bodily harm." But I will read Harry Potter to my kid AND I will give her the critical analysis she needs to a) get that Rowling FUCKING SUCKS and b) get that Rowling doesn't *own* wizards.

Harry Potter is awesome. Like the books are so great. AND THEY'RE ALSO SO RACIST AND ANTI-SEMITIC AND ANTI-TRANS.

And like, hello have you ever read any other fantasy book cause let me tell you: Rowling doesn't own wizards OR bigotry.

The fantasy genre? RACISM BUT WITH STAFFS.

THIS IS ALL TO SAY

1. There is no excusing Rowling's bigotry of all stripes.

2. She HATES trans people.

3. She should be de-platformed NOW.

4. Always BORROW (never buy) her books.

5. ALL FAVES ARE PROBLEMATIC.
