Oh my god is there anything more frustrating than a privileged person telling someone poorer than them "if you really really believe in yourself and your product, you will make it big"
Telling someone that they& #39;re poor because they didn& #39;t want it (success) badly enough is... just... poison, utter poison
I don& #39;t care what anyone says about hopes and dreams and the power of positive thought. Sometimes life is just shit for no reason and through no fault of your own. Sometimes terrible things happen to good people, for no reason at all.
Excuse me while I breathe through this and please pat me on the back for politely saying "this conversation is not helping me and disregards my background and circumstances" instead of starting to ugly cry in a fury of emotion
ON THE PHONE I WILL HAVE YOU KNOW, USING MY VOICE, IN REAL TIME
After all the shit I conquered inside myself, the shit I went through, the hard work I put in, the mental and emotional healing I& #39;m doing, my shitty neurological condition...!! How DARE you come and tell me that I am not successful because I have not wanted it badly enough! F off
Wow!! I& #39;m actually shaking from anger. Do NOT do this to people. You can believe it all you want. But do NOT force this view on people. You are harming them immensely and deeply and showing yourself to be very self-unaware, and your privilege reeks.
There& #39;s something uncomfortably close to a cult mindset here. "our way is the only way to be successful/be saved and if you fail, we do not take responsibility, it is your fault"
I& #39;ll probably delete this thread in a bit, because I don& #39;t want to be a bummer on everyone& #39;s timeline, but please, for the love of whatever higher power you believe in, do NOT tell people that poverty is their fault and that people are rich because "they believed hard enough"!
