So, today marks 6 months exactly since I self-excluded from online gambling. And coincidentally my mental well-being is probably the best it’s ever been. For anyone struggling I would heavily encourage signing up @gamstopuk1

Gonna do a little thread. It’ll explain some things, and if it helps anyone that’s a bonus

Online gambling, is one of the most dangerous activities out there. And it totally destroyed me financially. As the people closest to me know. But I never truly disclosed how bad the situation had gotten at any point.

6 months ago was Boxing Day, you might have worked out. I destroyed my and my families Christmas holidays. And enough was enough. A few days prior I had a severe breakdown, on a night out in Manchester. If you know me, you know about this.

But I never did say the reasoning behind this. Obviously alcohol was the trigger. But in the couple weeks building up to that night out, and Christmas. I had lost close to £2000, in a very short space of time. And that night I had no money left. And it hit me that night.

At the time I was working with a small company earning about £800 monthly. So £2000 was a gargantuas amount of money to essentially forfeit. For those who were there in Manchester. I hope that’s cleared that incident up.

Before that I lost a holiday, and my first car to gambling. And I built up a severe amount of debt. Which I am still recovering from to this day.

But these 6 months have changed my mind for the better. I’ve got plans setup financially. I’ve purchased a car again. And the future is bright again, and there was a time it wasn’t. To anyone struggling, please consider GamStop or another service.
