A thread on "How to ask for a pay raise "
Planning and preparation are key when you ask for a pay raise. You need to convince your employer that your contribution to the work of the company is worth above and beyond the usual annual pay raise #HRtalkwithMissKay
Make a list of goals and objectives you have accomplished at the organization.

Make a list of any additional responsibilities you have added to your job

Research the market for pay rates for your job #PayRise #HR

Be specific on amount you'd like to have
Familiarize yourself with your employer's pay practices. If the standard practice is to offer salary increases once a year after an annual review, you are unlikely to receive a raise at any other time.
Read your employee handbook. It may present the process whereby pay raises are granted. If a policy exists, your best bet when asking for a pay raise is to follow the process.
Be straightforward in addressing your request for a raise to your manager. Tell the manager you are asking for the raise because of the accomplishments and contributions you have made, and the additional responsibilities you have taken on. Be prepared with your documentation.
If the boss tells you he cannot provide a pay raise currently, ask what you need to do to make yourself eligible as soon as pay raises are available.
If your boss doesn't seem convinced, ask what you could do to merit an increase.
If your boss says bad time, ask when it might be reasonable to renew your request
If salary budget are an issue, try for a bonus. A one-time payment won't affect the pay structure, so it might be easier to get #salary
If your responsibilities have increased, ask for a better title. You may not have an immediate raise, but a new title will allow you to make higher-level pay comparison in the future..

May the force be with you as you go as for pay increments
