(Thread ⬇️) Please do not mistake teaching for a fruit of the Spirit. IT IS A GIFT. Many wolves are hiding behind "great teaching gifts" & too many of us have mistakenly linked how well a person teaches to maturity/godly fruit. The devil can share the Word too, LOOK AT THEIR LIFE
Often we can feel more comfortable around people with teaching gifts as opposed to people with the gifts of healings and prophesy for example because 'teachers' have great grace in the handling and dissecting of the Word. Their teaching may be sound but is their lifestyle?
Someone who demonstrates strong Gifting/power without the character of Jesus Christ should put an alarm bell in your spirit, it shouldn't be overlooked. Stop making excuses for the person's wicked or abusive character that doesn't reveal Jesus because they can teach well!
The devil is one of the first examples we see of an extraordinarily gifted individual whose character refused to be submitted to Christ's. When Peter spoke about false teachers in 2 Peter 2:10 he also described their CHARACTER “These people are proud and arrogant...”
Peter warns us that these people will “love to indulge in evil pleasures in BROAD daylight.” You will look at their LIFE & see that these people do not even bother hiding their abusive and wicked actions they will constantly “brag about themselves with empty, foolish boasting.”
A gift that is not submitted to Christ's character is NOT of God. Any backbiting minister, who gossips, insults, manipulates & controls others is NOT mature because they can share ‘deep revelations.’ Their LIFE will tell you! Matthew 7:16
The Holy Spirit gives gifts AS HE PLEASES. You don't walk in 'great gifts' because your works have somehow made you deserve them. An immature Christian can still prophesy. A mature disciple is measured by their surrender to Jesus and the fruits they bear NOT just by gifts.
This is why you can come across a great teacher of the word & be alarmed by their character. Their teaching ability is a GIFT just like singing is a GIFT. Someone graced in breaking down the Word doesn't mean that their life is a reflection of it. Hope this helps 🧡
