Okay, so I watched Shawol4ever's engsub to Taemin's cake Vlive part here and while I enjoyed it very much, some things struck me as off. Not Taemin and his good will wanting to share the anniversary,

but I was reminded of Taemlog on YT, which is an actual SM production, with editing and special effects and a writer making tiny observations. Similar to NCT doing vlogs, f.ex. Those Taemlogs if you remember only concerned SuperM Beyond Live and it's BTS. -c-

Again, this has nothing to do with the SuperM members. It's SM not supporting the one SHINee event that is a constant every year: their debut anniversary, beyond things like merchandise (which as Shawol who know EXO have pointed out is the same goods in pearl aqua) and a shop. -c

My impression is that this Vlive had no official backing. I personally think the reason why the letters were switched at the start was because the manager was filming with Taemin's iphone. Clearly his staff -c-

(manager and I think the effort took more than one person) organised the cake and the decorations to be prepared and the foil balloons hung up but you can continuously hear other voices, so they didn't even get to record in any studio, but somewhere in the SM building.

No budget for editing, no budget for a decent camera OR offical subs - even though Vlive allows the upload of subs (have a look at #Keyword BoA). Taemin improvising candles that were supposed to symbolise 12, since there clearly were not 12 of those sticks...

... Did he even have permission to upload that to Vlive... well maybe, clearly they handed the password to SHInee Twitter over to him no problem.
So now I worry: how much real support will they get when they come back, when Lee Sooman's Taeminnie has to resort to this.
