Have re-downloaded twitter for this and this alone. I love the NHS, I'm so proud to live in a country where we have the NHS, and I am proud to VOTE for a party that SUPPORTS the NHS. But I am sad for the LGBT community and our further eradication

The rainbow flag is the LGBTQ+ pride flag and has been since 1974. The flag represents strength & pride AS WELL AS centuries of demonisation, oppression, MURDERS, suicides, abuse, torture, laws imprisoning or restricting the freedom of a persons identity.

OUR rainbow flag is a symbol of community and solace, its to pay respect to members who have been killed and continue to be killed, its to show loyalty and a safe space for those who can't have that elsewhere. Pride month is approaching and our symbol is now being used for

something else. How do we show our pride? How do we show our struggles? How do we show closeted or abused members that we are here and that we love them? In a time of so much death and hardship we need to remain respectful and this is not respect.

Victor Orban just ended legal recognition for trans individuals in Hungary. How did he do this? He USED the pandemic to gain complete power and pass a law that he has been working towards for years. This is abuse of power and this has to stop.

The NHS has a symbol already, why is it that the symbol chosen to represent them now is one that was already taken by a marginalised group of society? Because power dynamics predate our existence and unfortunately we STILL have to fight for visibility and social/legal rights

this is why it is so important for our flag to be ours. this is why we need pride and why we need pride month. For anyone getting upset at this for the wrong reasons, I urge you to study LGBT history, bc I can guarantee you weren't taught it in school.

Systematic oppression and hate will continue to exist unless people educate themselves. Most people putting the pride flag in their windows for the NHS,I can guarantee, vote for a party against the NHS and against the queer community. Pride busses have been changed to NHS busses

It is physical erasure happening infront of our eyes. I am not saying we own the rainbow, I am saying we own the pride flag. The queer community deserved and deserves better. The NHS deserves better. Pls check yourself Great Britain. This is the government using you to erase us.

For clarification bc I know some ppl will disregard everything I've said & say I hate the NHS. I love the NHS and am so grateful for them. This is NOT their fault. This is the fault of the government. Don't play a part in their clear attempts at a heteronormative hierarchy
