0. A thread on how communism can ruin lives, generations, industries and cities.
1. There was a time when Kanpur was famous for its textile industries. It was known as Manchester of East. The cotton fabric woven in the textile mills of Kanpur were considered as a status symbol. And the city had everything that an Industrialized city should have.
2. On the hoot of siren, the workers used to reach the factories, Kids used to go to schools. Thousands of allied jobs like sales, managerial, office staff thrived. Everyone was happy and life was good
3. Everything was fine but there was one bunch of people that didn't like this and they decided to raid this city and one fine day communists arrived in the city
4. As usual they targeted the gullible workers and gave slogans like “Labor toiling in the factory and the mill owners are traveling in swanky cars”, with hopes that they will be better with their ideology
5. This gave rise to violence… typical of communism. The factory owners are were beaten very often. I have seen this in Calcutta also back in 80s. More new slogans were given by the comrades “Reduce working hours to 4, remove unemployment”
6. The working class fell for this communist propaganda as they saw an easy life with same pay and less work...but as they say there are no free lunches in this world. this case was not an exception
7. Communists got a leader Subhashini ALI, daughter of Laxmi and Prem Sehgal who was married to Muzzafar Ali
8. Under her able leadership , the factory workers got used to communists way of working. They became slacker. Strikes became a routine stuff and Subhashini Ali became their MP
9. After continuously suffering at the hands of unions the dreaded day came when the factory workers got permanent leave, the factories were locked down for good.
10. Subhashini Ali had nothing to lose, she remained their MP and enjoyed her life on the government perks. What happened to the workers?
11. Workers who had a nice life before advent of communism were reduced to being rickshaw puller working 12 hours a day or day wage labourers and struggled to lead a half decent life
12. Their school going kids took up rag picking to sustain their lives
13. The middle-class who had deep hatred for “Exploitation of laborer never had a meaningful employment in their life and lived their lives in depression
14. What happened to the factory owners? They moved their business to Gujarat. They were traveling in much swankier cars making good money and prospered
15. It was the people of Kanpur, the working class and people with middle level jobs that suffered the most while the commies lost nothing
15. So this is how communism works. Its important that people are aware of this dreaded disease and stay as far away as possible from this mental disorder
